Particle-world environments for communication, cooperation and competition, continuing the MPE environments formerly distributed with PettingZoo.
What can you do with it?
Evaluate agents that move and exchange messages while sharing goals or competing over landmarks and objects.
What should you know before using it?
Use the separate mpe2 package; pettingzoo.mpe now raises an import error. Current main requires Python 3.11+. Discrete actions are the default, unlike original OpenAI MPE, and newer scenarios extend the old collection. Code is MIT; historical papers describe the original environments.
